Automotive Parts Export Guide
Packing, documentation and container planning for parts shipments to Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
Export packing has two jobs: protect the part and survive handling. Cartons should be strong enough for multiple transfers and clearly marked for warehouse identification.
Mixed containers are common in the parts trade. Group heavy items low and fragile items high, and keep an accurate packing list by carton number.
Documentation usually includes the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and, depending on destination, a certificate of origin or inspection certificate.
Agree Incoterms clearly. FOB, CFR and CIF change who carries which cost and risk, and misunderstanding them is a frequent source of dispute.
