Automotive Parts Sourcing Guide for Importers

How to structure a first order, compare suppliers and reduce risk when sourcing replacement parts from China.

Sourcing replacement parts starts with a clear parts list. The more precise your list — part name, OE or reference number, vehicle model and required quantity — the faster and more accurate the quotation you receive.

Compare suppliers on more than unit price. Packaging, minimum order quantities, lead time, mixed-container flexibility and after-sales response all affect your landed cost and your ability to serve customers.

For a first order, many buyers start with fast-moving lines such as filters and brake pads, then extend into suspension, pumps and lubricants once the supply relationship is proven.

Keep documentation consistent: proforma invoice, packing list and photos of the loaded goods make customs clearance and internal stock control much easier.
